Topic: Dart Frog in Danger
Author: John R.Platt
Date: October 9, 2014
Summary:The Poison Dart Frog is threaten due to deforestation from human activities for utilitarian justification (mining deposits); that are being operated illegally. Researchers are encouraged to learn more about them and their ecological affects on the environment, because it's, "urgently needed." This frog has orange-red skin and a marbling underbelly. These frogs are smaller than a human finger nail and can be found in the forest of Panama.
Reflection: It's important to know what we're doing to the environment and what are effects can be. We don't know much about the, "Poisonous Dart Frog," but what we do know is that frogs in general are an indicator species, because of their highly permeable skin. Therefore their extinction will be made apparent in their environment and the changes before the fact. Ecological justification should always trump all other, because everything affects us whether if it's directly or indirectly.
